WHAT IS WEB?

The Web is the common name for the World Wide Web, a subset of the Internet consisting of the pages that can be accessed by a Web browser. Many people assume that the Web is the same as the Internet, and use these terms interchangeably. However, the term Internet actually refers to the global network of servers that makes the information sharing that happens over the Web possible. So, although the Web does make up a large portion of the Internet, but they are not one and same. Lets see the history of web.

WEB 1.0

Web 1.0 (1991-2004) was the initial stage of web when internet was new and not everybody had access to internet. In first stages the web 1.0 was only used to read information and peoples could only read whatever was being published.

WEB 2.0

WEB 2.0 (2004-PRESENT) was secondary stage of web where you could read the information. Publish it and write about it and share it with different communities. WEB 2.0 is the present structure of web which we are currently using.

WEB 3.0

In the third stage of web there’s no need to rent spaces from big tech companies like Spotify and Google can write and own your content. You can have digital properties on blockchain like Ethereum and receive compensation for it.

WHAT IS WEB 3.0?

Well, the emergence of blockchain technology has paved the way for a backend revolution where the Web is backed by decentralized networks and web services are not dependent on servers held by major IT companies. The validity of the idea is demonstrated by the rising number of decentralized apps that are powered by blockchain networks like Ethereum.

Web 3.0 is anticipated to greatly improve the Web’s ability to transfer information and value and pave the way for new types of web services, much like Web 2.0 enabled services that were unthinkable during the Web’s initial iteration, by utilizing other emerging technologies like Iot and artificial intelligence.

Web 3.0 provides a far more personalized browsing experience for all of us. Websites can automatically customize themselves to best fit our device, location and any accessibility requirements we may have and web apps will become far more attuned to our usage habits.

Dawn of metaverse

When you hear meta, the first thing that pops in your mind is imaginary place or some fictional place and you are not wrong. Metaverse is totally a universe embodied around internet. ‘’It is a world made available to everybody using fiber optics’’ Mark Zuckerburg mentioned this comment 80 times while introducing the word ‘META’. With WEB 3.0 we can own properties in metaverse and those would be made available to everyone.

How 3 Companies stepped into Metaverse

The following three companies and their sub companies recently stepped into metaverse

These are the companies that have invested billions of dollars to step into metaverse. They are developing games and other latest technologies to boost their vision and make it accessible to everyone.

WRAPPING UP WEB 3.0

One gets the impression that Iot technology is getting ever-closer to a turning point in the history of the Internet as the metaverse begins to take shape. Businesses that don’t comprehend digital ownership risk falling behind as decentralizing technology sweeps the industry. History is full of examples of failed businesses that couldn’t change. If you had told a florist in 1995, they might have started selling flowers online. It wasn’t long until small-scale traders start issuing NFTs and opening up shop in the metaverse. The Internet’s future will arrive sooner than you might expect.
